A No-Fuss July 4th Dessert

There’s a moment every July 4th when someone realizes dessert isn’t sorted yet, and the store is already packed. This year, you can skip that moment entirely.

These Red, White & Blueberry Cheesecakes come together with ingredients you probably already have on your porch: cream cheese, heavy cream, and berry jams from your Modern Milkman delivery. No oven, no store run, and no last-minute grocery run standing between you and dessert.

Why This Recipe Works for July 4th

Cookouts move fast. You’re managing the grill, the sides, the guests who showed up early, and the ones running late. A no-bake dessert that sets in the fridge while you handle everything else is exactly what the day calls for.

The other advantage: these use ingredients you’re already getting delivered every week. Cream cheese and heavy cream from a dairy that’s been doing this for five generations, plus strawberry and blueberry jam, are usually already in your fridge before you even think about dessert.

What You’ll Need

  • 1½ cups cookies, crushed into crumbs
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup heavy cream, whipped to soft peaks
  • ½ cup strawberry jam
  • ½ cup blueberry jam

Makes 12 mini cheesecakes.

How to Make Them

Build the crust. Line a muffin tin with 12 liners. Mix the crushed cookies and melted butter until it looks like wet sand, then press about a tablespoon into the bottom of each liner. Freeze for 10 minutes while you make the filling.

Sweeten the filling. Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then mix in the maple syrup and vanilla extract until fully combined.

Fold in the cream. Gently fold in the whipped heavy cream until the filling turns light and fluffy.

Fill and chill. Spoon the filling over the chilled crusts, filling each liner almost to the top. Refrigerate until set, about 4 hours.

Top it off. Finish each cheesecake with a swirl of strawberry jam on one side and blueberry jam on the other.

A Few Tips

Split the batch in half for a cleaner red-and-blue design, or swirl both jams onto each cheesecake for a marbled look. Silicone muffin liners make unmolding far easier than paper ones, especially once the filling has fully set.

These hold well in the fridge for up to two days, so they’re a solid make-ahead option if your July 4th schedule is already full.
